Editorial Policy & Recipe Testing
How we develop, test, photograph and correct the recipes on Nine Foods.

Who writes our recipes
Nine Foods is run by Farwa Zeeshan, a home cook and food vlogger who has been cooking and documenting recipes since 2008. Read more about us.
How we develop and test recipes
- We cook every recipe in a home kitchen with ingredients you can find in Pakistani markets, and note substitutions where an ingredient is hard to find.
- We write measurements in cups and spoons, with grams where accuracy matters, such as baking.
- Cooking times and temperatures are what worked for us. We describe what to look for (“until the oil separates”, “golden on top”) because stoves differ.
- For dishes from other countries, we research traditional versions and say where we’ve adapted a recipe.
Photos and images
We use our own photos wherever possible. Where an image is AI-generated or from a stock library, we aim to label it.
Use of AI
We may use AI tools to help with research, outlines or proofreading. Every recipe is reviewed, cooked and approved by a person before it’s published.
Accuracy and corrections
If you find a mistake, email [email protected]. We fix confirmed errors quickly and update the “last updated” date on the recipe.
Independence
Sponsors and advertisers don’t influence our recipes. Sponsored posts are always labelled. See our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure.
